Hays Recruitment are proud to be supporting a Northwich-based SEND school that supports pupils with complex SEN and medical needs from EYFS to KS4 as they are looking to appoint a motivated and reliable teaching assistant for a full-time contract from January 2025.
Your new role
In your role as a teaching assistant within this school you will be supporting pupils with a myriad of SEN including ASD, non-verbal, GLD, LD and other complex needs. You will have the opportunity to work in your preferred key stage and offer a pupil-centred approach to learning to ensure that all academic, emotional and physical needs of the pupils are met. You will implement a myriad of positive behaviour strategies to effectively manage pupil triggers and behaviours, including the schools 'traffic light' system. Other duties will include; interventions and boosters, phonics, speech and language therapy and support during break and lunch times.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered in your application, you must have full 'Right to Work' in the UK as well as recent referenceable experience supporting children/young people with complex SEN, as well as:
- Experience implementing positive behaviour strategies
- Be able to commit to a full-time contact (8:30am - 3:30pm)
- An NVQ level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification is advantageous but not essential
